An Exhaustive Study of Japanese-Taiwanese Councilor in Japan
Who Has Not Completed Her Duty of A Politician
The representative of anti-Japanese party, Renho Hsieh has
never explained clearly about the yes-or-no question of here dual nationality.
A civilian group appealed to the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office in
violation of Nationality Act and the Public Election Law on Oct 28th. She have
not shown the proof of her nationality such as a family register, although she
insisted that she declared her nationality as the Japanese on Oct 7th. Her
declaration did not support in her loyalty for the nations without showing the
proof.
“I do not know the details,” she continuously robotically
answered the question about her court case at the press conference on Oct 30th.
She was more likely to be suspicious with her incomplete
explanation for the issue of her nationality. She reluctantly said, “I answer
your question. My duty was already done according to the Article 14.2 of
Nationality Act,” when a reporter asked her the reason of skipping her
declaration which finished 6 days before last press conference on Oct 13th at the press conference on Oct 27th.
Still her answer did not show the loyalty for the nations.
According to the Nationality Act, if a person under 20 years
old had another nationality than Japan, he has to choose either of them until 22
years old under the law. The Article 14.2, if he chooses to be the Japanese,
(1) he must defect from his other nationalities, or (2) he must clearly declare
his defection from other nationalities.
Reporters focused their question on Renho’s immorality of
hiding her Taiwanese nationality as a Japanese politician until the press
conference on Oct 13. They also demanded to check the proof of family register
which recorded the date when she changed her nationality.
Nevertheless, Renho reluctantly answered, “I have done what
I needed to do under the Article 106 of Nationality Act. I am waiting for the
reaction from the city office,” avoiding showing the proof. She might have lied
to the reporters because the city office did not receive the proof of the
defection from Taiwan on Oct 7.
Even if she has been insisting her Japanese nationality
after the issue of her immorality of her dual nationality as a Japanese
politician was found, she have deceived the Japanese by hiding her dual
nationality. She kept hiding the reason of her immorality.
At the beginning of the issue revealed, she said, “I dropped
the Taiwanese nationality already.” But it was found as a lie on Sep 12. Although
she explained, “I thought my father have done everything about my defection,”
exactly month before the press, conference, she has been choosing to being
dishonest with the nations.
This case would not be finished until she honestly shows her
proof to be the Japanese without the dual nationality. Although she insisted
she had declared to defect from Taiwan on the same date when the city office in
Japan answered the proof of defection had not received from Taiwan on Oct 7. However,
she avoided showing the family register as proof due to the privacy issue.
Thus, everything about this was fully covered by the mist by the woman with the
dual nationality of Japanese and Taiwanese.
On the other hand, a female member of the House of Councilors
of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) who had had a dual personality between
Japan and U.S., Miyuki Onoda, had the same issue with Renho, but she already
showed the copy of the family register in October last year. Her private
information on the paper were covered by the black lines but she was honest to
the nations. Renho should employ as the same way as Onoda did if she was
concerned with her family’s privacy.
“I have learnt a lot of things from this. I made a mistake
and I understand it. I will explain everything later.”
She insisted at TV program on Oct 24. But her attitude has
unchanged since the issue occurred. She has been keeping deceiving the nation
from the beginning, as long as seen at the press conference on Oct 27.
