Osama Bin Laden was killed as the U.S's greatest target of the terrorist against U.S's and westerners' society. As Barack Obama announced his assassination at his private house in Pakistan from the White House, many U.S citizens celebrated for the return of their peace without any question for the next attack possibly carried by their enemies. But a U.S citizen is a little bit more skeptical with the issue and morality. I'm not a super-fun of the American football but I would like to pick up an article about a football player and his brave voice and soul via his twitter although he took his risk at leaving his popularity for his glorious sport career or being suffered from some ignorant yells from other U.S citizens.
Rashard Mendenhall commented on Twitter after the official announcement from the White House and that many U.S citizens celebrated their enemy down on the ground to the death, holding a pitcher of beer. His comments would be right in person as a humanitarian but many U.S citizens strongly disagree with him. Some of them left harsh comments to him, including on twitter, the article on ABC7 news.com, etc,. Later on, he created the blog to explain why he twittered on his new blog.
Here is a simple question on him and people's reaction over him, "Is he wrong or is it right to simply celebrate someone's death even if he is their enemy?" NPR.com directly explained to get a perspective on the question with their conclusion that celebrating with someone's death is religiously wrong in catholic but it can ease a group of people in a philosophically particular direction. Even if NPR neutralize the extremity on the issue, interestingly, Al Jazeera posted the article that Osama Bin Laden and his family were unarmed at the time when he was shot by the U.S force. If Al Jazeera's article is right, Rashard Mendenhall's skeptic philosophical question would be more understandable for many other nations which may has the objective opinion of the relationship between U.S and Al-Qaeda
U.S had a big historical change as soon as the White House officially announced Bin Laden's Death to its nation on May 3. Many U.S citizens believe that the war on terrors is finally over as Bin Laden's death but Al-Qaeda declared continuous attacks. A football player with his philosophical question lost his contract with is sponsor as soon as the company found the article. I would like to say he did all right with his question although he paid more than his expected, but I would not stand against the U.S citizen who celebrated with their enemy's death. I would like to say the man had the super-ego to warn other U.S citizens who are easily emotional as their national character.
